The results are in. Drumroll please… It was announced at Barton’s Annual Homecoming Dance that the king and queen of homecoming are Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity’s John Sloop and Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority’s Keisha Parker.
The Homecoming King candidates were Brennan O’Conner from the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity and Benjamin Rosalie from the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. The Homecoming Queen candidates were Lauren Yoho from the Delta Zeta sorority and Riley Bane from the Orientation Team.
The election period took place until 2pm on Friday, October 23rd. After a stray of events throughout the week in celebration of Barton’s Homecoming, on the night of October 24 both King and Queen were announced.
Keisha Parker said that she wanted to run for the title of Homecoming Queen because she said: “ I thought it would be a cool thing to have under my belt.”

This is just one of many titles Parker has at Barton. Parker is Student Body President, a member of the Student Government Association, a Peer Advisor, Orientation Leader, and much more. The title of Homecoming Queen will be an excellent add to Parker’s impressive list of titles involved with the Barton community.
John Sloop will also be adding the title of Homecoming King to his list of his executive role as President of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, the Orientation Team, Student Government Association, and much more.
The wife of Barton’s president, Beth Searcy was given the job to crown both Homecoming Queen and King. Regarding their winning, Mrs. Searcy says: “Congratulations Keisha Parker and John Sloop- you two represent six truly incredible students, and it was a pleasure to celebrate Homecoming with all of you!”
As for the future of Parker and Sloop as Homecoming Queen and King, there are no set expectations, duties, or roles they are expected to fill but Parker says: “John and I are serving members on the Student Government Association, so we plan to benefit the school by continuing to serve the students.”
Congratulations to both Keisha Parker and John Sloop for winning the title of Homecoming King and Queen.
